Short guide to famous Ashrams and temples around Nainital & Bhowali.

1. Kainchi Dham Ashram Near Nainital

Location: On Nainital–Almora road (~9 km from Bhowali).
Significance: The principal ashram where Neem Karoli Baba spent many years. Features Baba's main temple and samadhi. Annual Kainchi Dham Fair on 15 June.

2. Hanumangarhi Temple Nainital

Location: ~3 km above Nainital bus stand. Built by Neem Karoli Baba in the 1950s. Home to a large Lord Hanuman statue and a popular sunset viewpoint over the lake.

3. Veerbhatti / Bhumiya Dhar Ashram Bhowali

Location: Just before Kainchi Dham in Bhowali. Known for Baba's hut (kutiya) and as a meeting place where he met devotees. Continues as a centre for seva and spiritual practice.

4. Kakri Ghat Ashram Meditation Site

One of Baba's important meditation sites; peaceful surroundings ideal for retreats. (Followers have also established ashrams in Taos, NM and California.)
