Trekking Destination: The temple is accessible via a popular trekking route that
starts from Chopta. The trek to Tungnath is about 3.5 kilometers (2.2 miles) and is known
for its breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including Nanda Devi,
Chaukhamba, and Trishul.
Scenic Beauty: The trek to Tungnath takes you through beautiful meadows and dense
forests, offering stunning vistas of the Himalayan range. The area is known for its natural

Chandrashila Peak: Beyond Tungnath Temple, a further 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles)
trek leads to Chandrashila Peak, which is at an elevation of about 4,000 meters (13,123 feet).
From this vantage point, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges and the surrounding
landscape.
Best Time to Visit: The temple is typically open from late April to early November.
During the winter months, heavy snowfall can block the access roads, making it difficult to
reach the temple.
